Production Licence L14 is situated in the northern Perth Basin, 360km north of Perth. The permit is located approximately 20km south-south east of the township of Dongara, west of the Brand Highway. The permit covers an area of 9835 acres. L14 was originally part of the Norwest operated EP413 permit, however when the Jingemia discovery was made, the Production Licence L14 was carved out.
Jingemia is located in the north-eastern corner of L14. The field produces light oil from an excellent quality Dongara Sandstone reservoir. The basal Kockatea Shale forms the top seal, with the primary source being the Hovea Member of the Kockatea Shale. The Jingemia field and most of the L14 permit is covered by the 3D Denison seismic survey. The field has a surface facility, oil storage, separators, extensive piping and water injection facilities.
RCMA Australia assumed operatorship of L14 on 11 May 2018, with Norwest Energy owning 6.278%. Production commenced on 7th May 2003 and to date 4.6 million barrels have been produced of the 12 million barrels in place.
After a successful workover program in 2018, Jingemia had 4 wells online producing between 310-350 barrels of oil a day. Recently, RCMA has suspended production and the L14 JV have agreed to accelerate phase one of planned workovers, with production set to resume in July 2019.
