Jingemia

L14

Production Licence L14 is situated in the northern Perth Basin, 360km north of Perth. The permit is located approximately 20km south-south east of the township of Dongara, west of the Brand Highway.   The permit covers an area of 9835 acres.  L14 was originally part of the Norwest operated EP413 permit, however when the Jingemia discovery was made, the Production Licence L14 was carved out.

Jingemia is located in the north-eastern corner of L14.  The field produces light oil from an excellent quality Dongara Sandstone reservoir. The basal Kockatea Shale forms the top seal, with the primary source being the Hovea Member of the Kockatea Shale. The Jingemia field and most of the L14 permit is covered by the 3D Denison seismic survey. The field has a surface facility, oil storage, separators, extensive piping and water injection facilities.

Production commenced late 2003 and to date 4.3 million barrels have been produced of the 12 million barrels in place.

The Jingemia Oil Field production facility has been in care and maintenance since 2012, however with a new Joint Venture formed in 2017, plans are in place to recommence commercial production.  The operator of the new JV is privately held Cyclone Energy, with RCMA Australia and Norwest Energy making up the JV.

Work is currently underway to get the production facility up and running, and a sales contract is currently being negotiated with BP Refinery in Kwinana, with the expectation of commencing commercial production in Q42017.

Norwest believes L14 has additional exploration upside, with the likelihood of hydrocarbons trapped in the deeper High Cliff Sandstone and Kingia formations not tested at Jingemia.  Once commercial production has been established, the Joint Venture intends conducting a technical review to further evaluate hydrocarbon prospectivity.
